  • Do you offer workshops?
    We offer workshops in carnival arts for children and adults of all abilities. All workshops are provided based upon a theme and budget.
  • Do you collaborate with other bands?
    We are always open to collaborating with other businesses or groups. Please send us an email to discuss your requirements.
  • Do you make costumes for other bands?
    Yes we do. If you wish to have your costumes made by us please email utopiamas1@gmail.com with your requirements and a member of the team will get back to you.
  • How do I join the band
    Joining Utopia Mas is very easy, all you have to do is go to our website click either T-Shirt or Costume and then you will be part of the Utopia Mas UK Family.
  • My friends are playing in a different section in the band, can I change my section?
    There is no need. You and your friends can play together throughout the day. the only time you will be separated is when we get to judging point. Once we have cleared judging point you can be together again.
  • Who is Utopia Mas UK and what do you do?
    Utopia Mas UK are carnival group based in Bedford. We make costumes for all ages and abilities. We attend Notting Hill carnival anually as well as a variety of regional carnivals throughout the year. We provide workshops in carnival arts to schools and community groups, and we have a have a long history in creating costumes, sculptures and installations for private commissions.
  • What if NHC is cancelled?
    If NHC is cancelled, you will receive your costume as normal and we will carry the theme on to the following year.
  • Can I purchase a T-Shirt Package on Carnival Day?
    Yes. There will be limited T-Shirts available on the day and they will cost more than online, and will be on a first come basis. Once they are gone they are gone.
  • What time do you set off?
    We will set off 11am on both days?
  • Do you provide food and drink?
    We provide all children in costume with food and drink on Children's Day. On Adult's Day all customers will be provided with food and drink as part of their costume, and if you have bought a T-Shirt Package.
  • Where does the band leave from on Carnival Day?
    Notting Hill Carnival decides where we set off from. Once we have this information we will let you know.
  • What happens if I don't pay for my costume by the 7th August?
    Unfortunately you will not be able to have your costume unless full payment is made by 7th August 2022
  • When is your last payment deadline?
    The last date for payment will be the 7th August 2022
  • Can I still collect my costume if I have not paid in full by the payment deadline?
    No. We require full payment of your costume before collection.
  • Can I pay for my costume in instalments?
    Yes you can. We recommend that payments be made each month to help with budgeting should you need to.
  • How do I cancel or amend my order?
    *Once your order has been made you can not cancel it, as all deposits are no refundable. Please ensure before checking out that you are happy with your order. *You will have 24hrs to make any changes, regarding measurements. After 24hrs you will not be able to make any changes and you may incur further costs to make changes, as your costume is made to order.
  • How do I track my order?
    You will be sent an automatic order confirmation once you have placed your order.
  • I'm not happy with my order, can I get a refund?
    Your experience with us is very important to us. If you are not happy with your costume, we ask you to contact us by email within 24hrs of receiving your costume, to let us know what the problem is. This way we can aim to resolve any problems. If a refund is given it will be less your deposit.
  • When is the last date I can book my costume for NHC?
    31st July will be the last day and your costume will have to be paid in full.
  • What happens when I collect my costume?
    Please bring your confirmation email and a form of ID such as Driving Licence or Passport You will be given your costume, packaged You will have an opportunity to meet the designers and team We will unpack your costume in front of you, and you will have the option to try on your costume to see how it looks and feels
  • Do I have to supply my bra?
    We appreciate that not everyone is the same size, and it can be difficult to find the right support. We provide bras up to an F Cup. If you need to wear a size over an F Cup please provide us with a bra or fitted T-Shirt bra in either White or Black depending on which section you are in to be decorated accordingly.
  • My measurements have changed
    We understand that at times measurements may change. Unfortunately as everything is handmade to order, as your requirements, you will incur charges to change your costume. In the first instance email us with your request, with the subject line: I need to change my measurements.
  • Can someone else, collect my costume?
    Yes. however they must have a copy of your confirmation email
  • My children are plying in the band on Children's Day do I get a T-Shirt?
    Our children's costumes includes a free T-Shirt for 1 Parent. If another parent or one family member only wishes to join the band they will be able to purchase 1 more guardian T-Shirt Only.* If other family members wish to join the band they can purchase a T-Shirt via the website.# *Please note we only offer 1 T-Shirt per parent or guardian. If there are siblings playing together we will still only issue 1 Guardian T-Shirt.
  • How do I get my costume?
    You will be emailed when your costume has been made and ready for collection, and will be available to collect on the following days only:- 1st Collection Date: Sunday 31st July 2022 2nd and Final Collection Date: Sunday 14th August 2022 Collection Address: Host of Leyton, 658 High Road Leyton, London E10 6JP
  • Can I collect my costume at NHC?
    Unfortunately No. Carnival Day is very busy for us, organising a great day for you.
  • Can I give my costume/T-Shirt to someone else if I can't attend?
    Yes. You must provide us with the persons details before hand so that we know to change the booking.
  • What if I miss the collection date?
    If you miss the collection dates, you will have to pay for your costume to be delivered to you by courier at your expense
  • I don't like my costume can I change it?
    No. Please make sure before placing your order you are 100% sure which section you wish to play in, as costumes are made to order.
